Super-mom to 3 girls Sarah Deveau is someone I could see myself enjoying a cup of java with and having a great discussion. After all, she is an entrepreneur that owns a children's consignment boutique in Airdrie, Alberta called Cater Tot Consignment (clever, right?) so she knows how to be frugal by sourcing out great quality second hand items and in doing so, she created a business out of this skill. She's also the author of Sink or Swim: Get Your Degree Without Drowning in Debt (available at Chapters.Indigo.ca) and has just released her second book Money Smart Mom Financially Fit Parenting. How could we not be BFFs if we met in person?!

In Money Smart Mom - Financially Fit Parenting, Deveau shares with readers tips on how to plan financially for kids before you have them, how to survive on a reduced household income when on maternity leave, where to find money to set aside from RESPs, and basically how to shape up your finances and stop living paycheque to paycheque. There's no miracle plan that's going to make you 10x richer at the end of the year, but careful planning and paying attention to the money saving opportunities around us can make a big difference. Don't know where to start? This is where Money Smart Mom comes in.

My financial challenge right now is surviving on one income because I'm on maternity leave and EI benefits suck. That and trying to save for daycare in August, her RESP and hopefully plan better for my next mat leave in 2 years.
